Erling Haaland responds to emotional Jack Grealish message amid award-winning Everton form
Jack Grealish’s heartfelt message after he received recognition for his great form at Everton has been responded to by Man City star Erling Haaland.
Jack Grealish’s £100million [Sky Sports] move to Man City in 2021 saw him become a key man under Pep Guardiola at the start of his time there, but he became a bit-part player last season and so was linked with a move away throughout the summer.
Football Insider soon revealed that Grealish was “excited” about a potential move to Everton to play under David Moyes after reports had stated that the Toffees had opened talks over a loan move for the England international winger [The Athletic].
Grealish was soon loaned out to Everton to help revitalise his career, and he has begun excellently with the Merseyside club, with Moyes’ side currently sitting fifth in the Premier League with two wins from their first three league games.
The 30-year-old notched four assists from those three outings, and he has now delivered a heartfelt statement after his strong form was officially recognised with an award to cap off a fantastic start for him at Everton.

Erling Haaland reacts to Jack Grealish’s Premier League Player of the Month award message
Grealish was named as the Premier League’s Player of the Month for August on Friday (12 September) as he became the 10th player ever to win the award while playing for the Toffees.
The Man City loanee posted a message on Instagram on Friday alongside a picture of him with the gong, saying: “Delighted to be named PL player of the month in my first month at this brilliant club! Thank you Toffees for the welcome and we keep on pushing! See you all tomorrow” with blue heart and praying emojis.
City star Erling Haaland responded to his friend’s message by leaving two praying emojis and a blue heart emoji in the replies, while England teammate Declan Rice replied with three clapping emojis to show his support.
Grealish will relish opportunity to shine vs Aston Villa
Grealish and his teammates face arguably their toughest test so far this term as Aston Villa travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday (13 September), as despite their lack of form, they recently added the likes of Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott to an already strong squad at the end of the transfer window.
The statistics show that Grealish should be able to give Villa’s Matty Cash a hard time, with the Poland international winning just 56.3% of his duels up to now this term, while the Everton star sits second in the top-flight rankings for successful-take ons so far this season.
Appearances | Goals | Assists |
213 | 32 | 43 |
That should work in his favour, but the simple chance to get to show Villa fans what they are missing will likely be enough fuel for the 30-year-old to continue his standout form.
He looks to be a man reborn on Merseyside, and some would say his early-season showings have been reminiscent of his previous form at his boyhood club that earned him a big-money move to City four years ago.
