Erling Haaland responds to ‘huge’ Man City deal plan
Erling Haaland is interested in signing a new Man City contract, sources have told Football Insider.
The defending Premier League champions have previously explored the possibility of extending the deal he signed in 2022.
The 24-year-old was not too keen on extending his contract when the subject was tentatively suggested, but sources have said he is more eager to do so now.
The Norway international is currently under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, but City will look to extend his deal beyond that point and extended what is a “hugely” lucrative agreement.
Haaland kickstarted the new season in impressive fashion by finding the back of the net at Stamford Bridge in City’s 2-0 win over Chelsea last weekend.
Haaland is currently City’s only experienced striker after the club sold Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid earlier this summer.
Erling Haaland could commit his long-term future to Man City
Haaland has enjoyed a fruitful spell at City which has seen him win two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, a Community Shield, one Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.
The Norwegian joined City from Borussia Dortmund for £51.2million and has been a mainstay in Pep Guardiola’s team ever since.
Haaland has now made 100 appearances for the Premier League giants, scoring 91 goals and providing 14 assists.

Haaland may have a familiar face assisting him this season as Ilkay Gundogan looks poised to make a sensational return to the Etihad.
