Erling Haaland sends one-word message to Man City teammate Rodri after fall-out
Man City star Erling Haaland has taken to social media to send a message of support to Rodri after his Ballon d’Or win on Monday (October 28).
Rodri, 28 was officially named the best player in the world, beating Real Madrid duo Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham to the award.
Haaland, 24, however, decided to skip the ceremony in Paris, instead opting to support his friend and fellow Norwegian striker Erik Botheim in Sweden as Malmo beat rivals IFK Göteborg 2-1.
Despite netting 38 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions last season and starting this term in strong form, the prolific striker still finished only fifth in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

Together, the two players helped Pep Guardiola’s side win the Premier League, Uefa Super Cup, and Club World Cup with City last season.
While Real Madrid fans and players alike rage on social media about the decision not to award Vinicius the Ballon d’Or, Haaland has shown his support to Rodri on Instagram.

While Rodri is unlikely to play again this season after rupturing his ACL in their 2-2 with Arsenal earlier in the season, Man City sit top of the table with 23 points from their opening nine league games.
They’re the only Premier League side left unbeaten and will fancy their chances as they take on Bournemouth on Saturday (November 2).
