Erling Haaland sends three-word message to Man City fans after punishment

Man City striker Erling Haaland has taken to social media to send a message to fans after getting in trouble for an unpaid fine.

The 24-year-old was back to his clinical best during the international break, scoring a hattrick in Norway’s 5-0 UEFA Nations League win over Kazakhstan on Sunday (November 17).

Haaland ended his two-game goal drought with a close-range effort to open the scoring against Brighton but was left visibly furious at full-time as the game ended in defeat.

Four consecutive club-level defeats are the least of his concerns, as the striker now faces the, albeit highly unlikely, prospect of jail time in Switzerland over an unpaid fine.

According to Swiss outlet Blick, Haaland could be in big trouble next time he visits the country after failing to pay a 60 Franc (£53.55) fine, a paltry fee for a man who gets paid £375,000 a week.

Man City ace Erling Haaland focussing on his football

For now, Haaland will be focused on helping City out of their current rut after falling five points behind Arne Slot’s Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.

City face Tottenham on Saturday (November 23), the team that triggered their current slump with a 2-1 League Cup defeat. Ahead of the clash, Haaland took to Instagram to share a message with the fans.

Pep Guardiola’s new two-year deal could prove to be the boost the club need, with the striker making his feelings clear on the matter.

Things remain uncertain for the club off the pitch, however, with the independent hearing into their alleged 115 charges underway.
