Erling Haaland sums up embarrassing Man United with two-word Rasmus Hojlund message

Man City’s Erling Haaland has summarised Man United’s failures perfectly following his latest activity on social media.

Ruben Amorim is under crushing pressure at Man United, just 11 months into his role at Old Trafford, and matters do not appear to be getting any easier after losing 3-1 to Brentford on Saturday, 27 September.

Many thought that if the manager could get a summer transfer window under his belt, he would have the appropriate players to fit his style. Man United signed Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha in attack.

However, the main focus appears to be on the exits he sanctioned over the summer months. Marcus Rashford is loving life at Barcelona, and the same can be said for Antony and Rasmus Hojlund at their new clubs.

It has been strange to see Hojlund link up with Man City legend Kevin De Bruyne, with both joining Napoli during the transfer window, and the striker’s rise in form says more about United than it does him.

Rasmus Hojlund continues to star alongside Kevin De Bruyne

Taking to Instagram (2 October), Hojlund wrote: “‘Hojlund scores twice in the Champions League after two assists from Kevin De Bruyne’ was not on my 2025 bingo card.”

In response to the Man United loanee’s post, Man City‘s Haaland tagged former teammate De Bruyne in his comment, simply writing, “Feed him” after the duo linked up in the Champions League.

It appears that Hojlund’s biggest problem at Old Trafford was the service he received from his teammates around him. At Napoli, he already has three goals, two of which were supplied by De Bruyne.

Benjamin Sesko is under pressure to improve for the Red Devils

Sesko scored his first goal in Man United colours against the Bees, having failed to hit the back of the net in any of his first six appearances since arriving on a big-money deal from RB Leipzig.

The money comes with a lot of pressure on his shoulders, but with United desperate to turn their form around, there is almost no time for him to adapt to the league and work towards the expectations.

Supporters want results immediately. However, as shown by Hojlund’s form over in Italy, it is unlikely to be fully the players at blame, with many recent departures improving instantly at their new clubs.

Amorim must do something to change the system before Sir Jim Ratcliffe pulls the rug from underneath him, and if he were to listen to the fans, the manager’s time might already be up at Old Trafford.
