Pundit shares intriguing Erling Haaland verdict after ‘huge’ behind-the-scenes Man City reveal

Paul Robinson has claimed “the only test” for Man City striker Erling Haaland is “longevity”.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said “it is very difficult to find anybody who says anything negative about” the 22-year-old.

Haaland scored a brace for the Cityzens in a 3-1 win over Leeds United on Wednesday (28 December).

Speaking to Amazon Prime post-match (28 December), the centre-forward said he should have scored five at Elland Road.

Sources have told Football Insider that Haaland is very popular in the City dressing room and is a “huge” presence off the pitch as well as on it.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Haaland’s character, Robinson said: “It is very difficult to find anybody who says anything negative about him.

“Everyone that has played with or worked with him showers him in praise. That says a lot about his work rate, commitment and love for the game. He is the real deal both on and off the pitch.

“He has so much ability and the right temperament. That’s why he’s getting better and better.

“The only test is longevity. Can he do this over the next five to 10 years? That is the test that is to come.

“He is still young. Does he have the hunger to win trophy after trophy and stay at that level? Everything is pointing towards him doing that.”

In other news, Erling Haaland expected to stay at Man City for ‘seven years’ as ‘offer’ is suggested.
