Ernest Nuamah transfer: Everton ‘loan with an obligation’ edges closer
Everton are looking to sign Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah on a loan deal with an obligation to buy in the January transfer window.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that he “can’t see that one being a permanent” signing this month due to profit and sustainability restrictions.
The Merseyside giants are looking to bolster their squad this month to give David Moyes as much to work with as possible to try and keep the club in the Premier League.
Everton have struggled in front of goal this season which is why Moyes is hoping to enhance his attacking options in the January transfer window.
Only Southampton have scored fewer goals than the Merseyside giants, which has led to the club sitting just one point above the relegation zone after 20 games.
Everton could sign Ernest Nuamah on loan
“[His] Contracts on 2028, so the amount of money that I suspect that Everton would have to outlay now might put him in FFP and PSR restraints,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“If that deals to be done, it’s a loan with an obligation.
“Lyon because of their financial situation as well, to get him off the wages would probably be a big help for them.“[I] Can’t see that one being a permanent.”
