Ethan Ampadu reacts as Leeds United agree ‘top’ signing
Ethan Ampadu has reacted after Leeds United officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Lucas Perri from Olympique Lyon.
Perri, 27, has arrived at Elland Road in a deal worth £15.6million and will return to the Premier League for the first time since his short loan spell at Crystal Palace in 2019.
Daniel Farke had been determined to upgrade on Illan Meslier and improve his goalkeeping options after a mistake-ridden season from the Frenchman last time out.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in April that Leeds want a new goalkeeper to replace Meslier as he is not part of their long-term plans.
Meanwhile, former Leeds shot-stopper Paul Robinson told Football Insider in January that Leeds want to sign a top-class goalkeeper amid ongoing concerns.

Ethan Ampadu reacts as Leeds United announce seventh signing
Perri has become Leeds’ seventh signing of the summer, joining Lukas Nmecha, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sean Longstaff, Jaka Bijol and Anton Stach.
With a total spend of around £74million, the Elland Road club have shown willingness to back Farke in the market ahead of their return to the Premier League.
This comes after Football Insider Leeds would back Farke with a huge budget to improve their chances of avoiding an immediate relegation.
Perri took to Instagram, where he shared photos of himself signing his Leeds United contract alongside his agent, friends and family.
The post was liked by Ampadu alongside Newcastle and Norwich City stars Joelinton and Jeffrey Schlupp, while his former teammate Tanner Tessmann replied “Top” with a fire emoji.
Daniel Farke opens door to Patrick Bamford sale
While incoming deals have been the major focus so far this summer, the Yorkshire club are also preparing to cash in on a number of the squad’s fringe players.
Football Insider revealed on 21 July that Patrick Bamford will leave Leeds and is open to staying in England or moving abroad after seven years at Elland Road.
Farke confirmed that the 31-year-old is no longer a part of his plans and they are prepared to accept offers for him should they arrive this summer.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider in October that Leeds are open to selling Bamford in the summer after he fell out of favour under Farke.
