Ethan Nwaneri sends ‘love this’ message after Arsenal destroy Man City
Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri took to Instagram to celebrate his side’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Manchester City at the Emirates.
The Gunners put on a dominant display against Pep Guardiola’s side, keeping themselves firmly in the title race and closing the gap to six points behind Liverpool.
Nwaneri capped off the performance by scoring Arsenal’s fifth goal, following earlier strikes from Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Kai Havertz.
After the match, the 17-year-old posted a picture of himself celebrating, simply captioned: “Love this team”.
Fellow goalscorer Lewis-Skelly showed his appreciation by commenting a heart emoji, while Declan Rice liked the post. Former Arsenal academy player and teammate Ayden Heaven, now at Manchester United, also commented: “Eth.”
Arsenal youngsters shine as Man City continue to struggle
Mikel Arteta’s side delivered a dominant performance, making a statement with their victory against their former title rivals.
Nwaneri has enjoyed a fantastic breakout season, netting seven goals across all competitions. The 17-year-old has made 22 appearances, including three Premier League starts and one in the Champions League.

His injury against Brighton on 4 January left Arsenal short of options on the right flank, with Raheem Sterling filling in—a move that has yet to win over fans.
Although Nwaneri’s return has been influential, some supporters believe it has convinced the club not to enter the transfer market for an attacking reinforcement.
With no signings made in the transfer window yet, their concerns may be justified. The Gunners now have just Kai Havertz covering the striker role for the remainder of the season after Gabriel Jesus suffered a long-term injury.
Football Insider Verdict
Despite speculation about Arsenal signing an attacker, Nwaneri has shown he belongs in the senior squad. His stunning goal from outside the box was the perfect finishing touch to a brilliant display.
With star man Bukayo Saka sidelined due to injury, Nwaneri has stepped up remarkably. His passion for the club is a testament to the talent coming through Hale End, and fans will be hopeful that his rise continues.
In other news, Arsenal defender Gabriel Maghalaes should have been booked after a clash with Erling Haaland.
