Ethan Nwaneri sends message as Arsenal exit finalised
Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly have sent messages to Osman Kamara, after he confirmed that he is leaving Arsenal.
Kamara featured on trial for Blackburn Rovers’ Under-21s this week and scored, but his next destination is not yet known.
The talented winger featured on a regular occasion for the U21s, but never managed to make an appearance for Mikel Arteta‘s team.
Nwaneri is currently on loan at Marseille, but featured in teams with Kamara at the academy level over the years.
The same can be said of Lewis-Skelly, who was left out of the squad as Arsenal beat Leeds United 4-0 on Saturday.
Arsenal stars say their goodbyes to Osman Kamara
Kamara joined Arsenal in 2014, and has regularly trained with the first team in recent years.
He would have hoped to follow in the footsteps of Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, who made the breakthrough last season, but it has looked increasingly unlikely.
The 19-year-old’s natural position on the wing is one with huge competition at Arsenal, both at the academy level and in the senior team.
The likes of Amario Cozier-Duberry faced a similar problem, but he has shown that there is a route to success elsewhere, as well.
| Amario Cozier-Duberry | League One 2025-26 |
| Appearances | 28 |
| Goals | 6 |
| Assists | 8 |
| Chances created | 42 |
| Successful dribbles | 58 |
| Duels won | 119 |
The 20-year-old left Arsenal on a free transfer to join Brighton in 2024, and the winger’s stocks have only risen since.
While currently injured, Cozier-Duberry has caught the eye on loan at Bolton Wanderers in League One this season, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in 28 appearances.
The England youth international is likely set for a further loan to the Championship next season, but he could easily be playing Premier League football within one or two years.
Kamara will hope to take a similar path, and he shared a message to confirm his departure from Arsenal on Sunday.
“After 10 years at Arsenal, it’s time to take the next step in my career,” he wrote on Instagram. “I am grateful towards every staff member, coach and the club that nurtured me.
“Excited for what’s to come! Ozzy”. Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly both left heart messages in the comments.
What Kamara said about his future
Kamara was handed his first professional contract in 2024, after a season for the U18s that had seen him score nine goals in 14 appearances.
Speaking to Arsenal following the news, he said: “It gives you that sense that, if you do work hard, things will be given to you. I’m going to keep doing the same in the future.
“It was an easy decision. The coaches and staff around here are very welcoming and bring out the best in me, so I’ll keep improving as a player and a person.”
While it would appear not to be at Arsenal, Kamara’s future is evidently very bright. The winger has all the tools, and will hope to utilise them at his next destination.
