Eunan O’Kane delivers verdict after Leeds win against Bristol City, fans will love his comments

Eunan O’Kane has stated that he is “happy” that Leeds have gone back to winning ways after their 2-1 win against Bristol City on Tuesday night.

Midfielder O’Kane stated that the Whites “owed” the supporters three points as fans will love his fighting talk.

Garry Monk had seen his side slump to back-to-back defeats in recent weeks, first against rivals Huddersfield then a home defeat against Cardiff.

But, goals from striker Chris Wood and playmaker Pablo Hernandez ensured they kept their promotion hopes alive.

O’Kane, who played 77 minutes of the match, had this message to supporters as posted on his personal Twitter account.

“So happy to get back to winning tonight,” said O’Kane. “Thank you to everyone who came out, we owed you a win.”

Captain Liam Bridcutt was suspended for this fixture, so Monk opted to bring O’Kane into the side as he controlled the game for the majority of the match.

The Republic of Ireland international had only played eight minutes of football during his last two Championship games.

Overall this term, he has played 19 games in all competitions, providing two assists, but he is yet to find the back of the net.

Bridcutt is set to come back for the Whites trip to Ipswich this Saturday, but O’Kane will be hoping to keep his place for the encounter at Portman Road.

A win for Monk’s side could see them overtake promotion rivals Reading in the table as the fourth-placed side travel to third-placed Huddersfield next Tuesday.
