Celtic go into their Europa League last 32 first leg tie against Zenit St Petersburg at Parkhead on Thursday as underdogs.
Not only do the Hoops have plenty of injury problems – with the likes of Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts, Craig Gordon and Dedryck Boyata all missing the game – but their home form in Europe is very poor, most recently losing all three Champions League group stage games this season.
So how can the Hoops win the game? They will need big performances from the likes of James Forrest and Scott Brown, both of whom are in good form, and from the likes of Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele, both of whom are struggling at the moment.
They could also take advantage of the fact that Roberto Mancini’s side haven’t played a competitive match since December because of the Russian league winter break, and if the Bhoys start the game well they could catch their opponents cold.
Of course picking the correct team is very important too, and Rodgers could look to make two changes from the side which defeated Partick 3-2 in the Scottish Cup at the weekend.
