Confirmed: European giants fail in bid to land Tottenham senior star
By Matt Farr
Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has turned down the opportunity to move to European giants Galatasaray this month, according to his agent.
The Dutch striker has struggled since arriving at White Hart Lane for £17million, having scored just one Premier League goal in over 600 minutes of football.
The player’s agent, Patrick van Diermen told the Turkish news outlet that Janssen was prepared to remain with Tottenham this month and fight for his place in the side.
He told Omroep Brabant: “He has taken the decision not to go.

“Last summer, Vincent made a conscious choice. He signed a long-term contract with a good club, with good facilities and a good coach.
“Before he got injured he got playing time in each game. He is enjoying his time and wants to fight for his chance.”
The 22-year-old has yet to score from open play this season, with each of Janssen’s three goals in all competitions coming from the penalty spot.
He was in prolific touch for AZ Alkmaar last season, where he netted 32 times in all competitions, but has not been able to rediscover that form since arriving in England.
Regular opportunities have been limited due to the undroppable nature of premier goalscorer Harry Kane, but Janssen has had plenty chances to impress the manager.
However, Pochettino’s patience has been greatly tested in recent weeks, with Janssen being omitted from Tottenham’s last two matchday squads.
Football Insider verdict
Janssen may still hold an ambition of playing regular football at Tottenham, but on his current course, that is simply not going to happen. Like many others before him, Janssen arrived in the Premier League on the back of a tremendous season in Europe, but has failed to live up to expectation. Considering Pochettino forked out £17million to sign him in the summer, it’s been a massive disappointment. Time is still young, and Janssen could yet turn things around at White Hart Lane. However, the opportunity to regain his form at another club could have been a healthy option for him, and hopefully choosing to stay and fight for his place won’t prove to be a bad decision.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Pochettino has declared he has no intention of selling this player.
