Manchester City are close to beating Tottenham to the signing of Real Madrid playmaker Isco, according to a report.
The Sun claim that City manager Pep Guardiola is confident of signing the Spaniard in a £30million deal in the summer.
The report details that the 24-year-old is unsettled at the Bernabeu and is certain to leave in the summer.
Tottenham will be devastated that City are edge closer to a deal for Isco as they have been long-term admirers of the attacking midfielder.
The Daily Mail reported that Spurs were interested in Isco on loan last summer and that a number of Premier League clubs considered moves for him in the January window.

It has been widely reported, included by the Daily Mirror, that Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of the creative player.
Isco looks set to enjoy his first taste of Premier League football next season, but it will not be at White Hart Lane.
He has endured spells in and out of the Madrid side since he moved to the European giants in 2013, scoring 28 goals and supplying 41 assists in 176 appearances.
Football Insider verdict:
Spurs will be suffering a huge blow if Premier League rivals Man City manage to beat them to Isco’s signature. Pochettino’s side have been long-term admirers of the Spain international and he would certainly add huge quality to their squad. He would be able to fit into the passing style of play and help Spurs kick on to the next level of winning trophies. They need to be signing players of Isco’s calibre if they want to compete regularly in all competitions as their squad is currently too thin. Man City have clearly recognised the talents of the Madrid ace and believe he can emulate his form in England. Spurs should have moved in the past to secure Isco and have the leverage that he wants to quit Madrid. However, any chances now appear to have been dashed and they will find it hard to purchase a creative player with Isco’s talents.
