Everton could agree £10m-a-year naming rights deal – Stefan Borson
Everton could struggle to land a naming rights deal worth more than £10million for their new stadium despite already receiving offers from interested parties.
That is the view of finance expert Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider the Merseysiders are unlikely to beat any comparative stadium naming rights deals that have previously been done across England.
Everton are set to leave Goodison Park at the end of this season and move into their new state-of-the-art facility on Bramley-Moore Dock.
But despite the development being projected to cost around £500million, it is now expected to set the Merseysiders back more than £800million.
The Liverpool Echo reported on 1 October Everton have received offers from organisations looking to win the battle for the naming rights at the new stadium.
The hunt for a new agreement came after talks were ended over a £10million-a-year deal with Alisher Usmanov-linked USM Services Limited following the sanctions placed on the Russian oligarch in 2022.
Everton could find it difficult to beat Alisher Usmanov deal
Borson believes Everton will find it difficult to receive a more profitable deal than the previous agreement.
He told Football Insider: “They may have lots of offers, but we have got no idea what scale those offers are and what duration those offers are.
“They won’t want to rush it. They will have had an agency handling that.
“It seems to me that they are unlikely to beat the comparative naming rights deals that have been done in this country.
“Therefore, it probably won’t be worth as much as some of the press have been speculating. I would think probably more like sub-£10million per annum, but maybe over a 10 or 20-year deal.

“The headline could be a £100million or £200million deal, but really the key is how much of it is per season.
“I think they would be hard pushed to get more than £10million.”
