Everton could face more lawsuits after Leeds United and Leicester – Kieran Maguire
Everton could face more lawsuits from relegated sides if they face a third points deduction related to stadium costs this summer.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Premier League could be at fault for more lawsuits after deciding to delay a third hearing.
As revealed by Football Insider, there is still an ongoing dispute between Everton and the Premier League over £24million of stadium costs.
The Premier League have accused Everton of discounting interest fees attached to their stadium from their PSR calculations.
A hearing over the matter is expected in the summer, meaning any punishments or sanctions will likely be applied to the 2024-25 season.

Maguire explained that the Premier League delaying the hearing until the summer could affect which clubs are relegated and therefore trigger new lawsuits.
Leeds United, Burnley and Leicester have previously threatened to sue Everton for £300million after they were charged with breaching financial regulations.
“I think it’s disappointing that it has been pushed back until the summer,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“Yes, it’s an accounting issue, but surely it’s an accounting issue which shouldn’t need that much time to decide over.
“If Everton stay up on goal difference and another side goes down and then Everton are subsequently given a two-point deduction once again, it makes a complete mockery of the Premier League.
“They planned to have all decisions made within the season they are expected to impact.
“So I think we could be seeing more lawsuits from clubs that have been relegated.“
