Everton could now accept Textor offer after ‘entering talks’ – Kieran Maguire
John Textor could enter formal Everton takeover talks with Farhad Moshiri and have a bid accepted before dealing with his stake in Crystal Palace.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Textor could agree a deal to buy Everton before selling his shares at Palace.
Everton chairman Moshiri is free to explore alternative takeover options after a deadline with 777 Partners expired on Saturday (1 June).
The US group failed to meet conditions laid out by the Premier League and are now set to lose their exclusivity rights to a takeover deal.
Palace investor Textor has emerged as an interested party in a majority takeover at Goodison Park but he would be required to sell his shares at Selhurst Park before finalising the deal.

However, Maguire explained that the 58-year-old American businessman can enter talks with Moshiri “as soon as possible” to find an agreement.
“For John Textor it’s definitely a case of sell before you buy,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“Having said that, that won’t stop him from going into negotiations with Moshiri as soon as possible and having a bid accepted.
“Then it’s a bit like selling a house in the sense that you’ve got to wait for your buyer to sell before they’ve got the funds to go and buy yours.

“So you have to get all the ducks in a row.
“Provided that Textor asks for a fair price for his Palace stake, there is no reason why he can’t sell it.“
