‘Everton could sack Sean Dyche’ as soon as takeover completed
Everton could opt to sack with Sean Dyche when The Friedkin Group takeover is officially completed as they aim to “put their own stamp” on the football club.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes there “may be a question over his future” when it comes to the long term.
The Merseyside giants sit 16th in the Premier League table after the opening 10 fixtures, having managed to win just twice this season.
Dan Friedkin is currently in the process of taking over at Everton after agreed a deal to purchase a 94.1 per cent stake at Goodison Park, and his arrival could spell changes.
Sean Dyche’s future at Everton could be brought into question soon
“Maybe long term, but the most important thing, I’ve said before, for Everton is to stay in the Premier League,” Robinson told Football Insider.
“The last thing that they need is to be relegated this season with a takeover, financially getting the club stable for the first time in a long time, to then the unthinkable be relegated.
“With Sean Dyche at the helm, they’re always going to get results, he’s a manager who knows how to stay in the Premier League.
“Long term, there may be a question over his future with the new ownership coming in.
“When the new owner comes in at any club, they’re always going to want to put their own stamp on it and their own ideas on it, and that’s when things may change.
“But short term it would be short-sighted to be looking elsewhere than Sean Dyche.”
