Everton Exclusive: Jordan Pickford future in doubt as new details emerge
Could Everton star Jordan Pickford be set for a departure from Goodison Park amid points deduction and takeover doubts?
Jordan Pickford will be in demand in the summer if Everton are relegated or their impending takeover falls through, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed that the England international is among many stars who could depart the club if the Toffees do not get their financial affairs in order.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that, should Everton face a worst-case scenario, Pickford will generate significant interest from Premier League sides at the end of the season.
Relegation remains a huge threat for Sean Dyche’s 18th-place side after they were hit with a huge 10-point deduction in November.
While they are in the process of appealing that decision, sources have told Football Insider (9 February) that they are not likely to receive good news when the results of their appeal for Financial Fair Play breaches are announced.
The verdict is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Everton are still waiting to hear from the Premier League as to whether 777 Partners will be allowed to complete a buyout of Farhad Moshiri’s majority ownership.
The American finance group has been funding the club, including covering the costs of their new stadium, and have reportedly paid £160million so far.
Should this fall through, the club will be forced to sell key assets.
Pickford has been Everton’s undisputed number one since his arrival from Sunderland in 2017.
This season, he has kept the most clean sheets out of any Premier League goalkeeper with 8 having started all the club’s league fixtures.

Everton sit in the Premier League relegation zone after their 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Saturday (3 February).
They are next in action against title contenders Man City at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon (10 February).
