Everton face mass exodus of star players within weeks – sources

Everton must seek new investment away from prospective owners 777 Partners or they will have to sell star players within weeks.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke suggested that 777’s proposed takeover is unlikely to happen amid their continued struggle to complete the deal.

They agreed to buy Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1 per cent stake in the club back in September, but following persistent twists and struggles to raise funds, it looks in major doubt.

Now, O’Rourke revealed that the Toffees must seek new investors otherwise the “vultures” will seek to sign their best players on cut-price deals.

Everton quartet could be sold after 777 mayhem – O’Rourke

Clubs must submit their financial accounts before 30 June, meaning Everton will have to agree on player sales before this date to avoid another points deduction or PSR charge.

It is believed that Jarrad Branthwaite, Jordan Pickford, Amadou Onana and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are the main Everton stars that clubs will be keeping tabs on this summer.

Football Insider revealed (7 April) that Sean Dyche’s side will demand up to £40million for Pickford, but this valuation could be slashed if they are under pressure to sell.

Well-placed sources have also told Football Insider (25 April) that Man United are confident a bid of between £60-70million will be enough to land Branthwaite this summer, but a pre-30 June sale could be lower.

777 were hopeful that their takeover would be completed by mid-April, but delays to their repayment of £158million loan to MSP Sports Capital, who agreed to an extension, has provided another setback.
