Everton fans are all saying the same thing about Leicester points deduction news
Everton fans have been stunned after Leicester City announced they have won their appeal against a charge of breaching profit and sustainability rules.
In a statement issued via the club’s official website, they revealed that their challenge has been upheld by an independent appeal board.
This comes following the expectation that the Foxes would be the latest club to face a points deduction as a result of a financial breach after what happened to Everton and Nottingham Forest.
Last season, Everton were handed two separate points deductions for PSR breaches, losing a total of eight points after the Premier League and independent panel’s ruling.
Since the initial deduction, there have been protests towards the Premier League at Goodison Park and fans have not been quick to forget the way the club was treated.
Following the latest twist, their anger has been reignited, and supporters are, once again, raging at the Premier League.
Everton fans can’t believe how Leicester City avoided PSR punishment
Everton challenged both of their points deductions last season, with the first seeing a reduction to six from an initial ten-point punishment.
However, Leicester’s victory in their case has set a new precedent for finding the loopholes in the rules.
This has done little to settle the Everton supporters who feel their club has been targeted by the league’s decision-makers after what has happened to them.
Many have called for the club to take legal action, while others are insisting the rules were made to benefit certain clubs while publishing others.
Fans have taken to social media to voice their anger at the latest decision, labelling the Premier League and PSR “disgusting”, “horrific” and “corrupt”.
