Everton fans fume at Sean Dyche after what he said about two players – ‘Sack him’

Everton fans are furious with manager Sean Dyche for claiming midfield duo Amadou Onana and James Garner were “miles off it” against Chelsea on Monday night (15 April).

The Toffees suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge in Dyche’s biggest loss of his managerial career after Cole Palmer bagged four, Nicolas Jackson scored and youngster Alfie Gilchrist netted in the 90th minute.

However, in an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Dyche singled out Onana and Garner for their role in the “ugly” performance.

The gaffer slaughtered his “midfield two” for failing to make enough tackles, struggling to break the play and not anticipating Chelsea’s movement.

Both Onana and Garner were hauled off at half-time for Jack Harrison and Andre Gomes with the Merseysiders 4-0 down, and Dyche admitted his side’s performance was “mildly better” in the second half.

The young midfielders have been standouts for the struggling Toffees this season and look set to attract a lot of attention from clubs this summer.

Football Insider revealed in February that Tottenham and Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Garner, while this month sources revealed that Onana is “likely” to leave the club this summer for between £50-60million.

Supporters have taken major umbrage with Dyche’s comments on the midfielders as they claim the players only did as the manager asked – play aggressively.

They have taken social media to slaughter the “clueless” boss, and many now want to see him sacked.
