'Boom', 'Bye', 'It's happening, people' - Everton fans giddy with excitement at reported development
By Richard Parks
Everton are to hold a board meeting this week to discuss the future of manager Sam Allardyce – and fans have taken to Twitter to express their huge excitement.
The Mail claim claim the Merseysiders’ majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri could give the green light to terminate Allardyce’s contract even though he was only appointed on an 18-month deal last November.
It is said that the manager’s position will be discussed by the board in the coming days after a campaign in which the team have failed to deliver the results and performances expected following huge investment in the playing squad and coaching staff.
Allardyce has called for clarity on his position after speaking of his anger at a survey sent to season ticket holders in which they were asked to rate his ability to lead the team.
That could now come quicker than he might have anticipated as Iranian billionaire Moshiri spearheads a meeting of the Everton directors.

There have been widespread reports in recent weeks that Everton are keen to move in a different direction and have set their sights on two Portugese managers as they put together another shortlist of manager candidates.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s Paulo Fonseca, who is close to securing a second consecutive league title after winning the treble in his first campaign, and former Watford boss Marco Silva have been strongly linked with the post.
Silva was sacked by Watford in January after he was also courted by the Merseysiders during their extensive hunt to replace Ronald Koeman last autumn.
Everton are ninth in the table ahead of Monday night’s home league clash against Newcastle United.
