Everton fans rage at ‘horrid’ Nathan Patterson after what he did vs Bournemouth
Everton fans have been left raging at Nathan Patterson after what they saw during their heavy pre-season defeat to Bournemouth in the USA.
David Moyes’ side were thrashed 3-0 at the MetLife Stadium in New York, with second-half goals coming from Philip Billing, Dango Ouattara and Daniel Adu-Adjei.
A number of players have come in for heavy stick following the game, but none more so than the right-back who turned in a “shocking” performance.
Patterson, 23, was at fault for Ouattara’s goal as he failed to stop the winger’s run before playing the ball directly into his path to fire past Jordan Pickford.
The Scotland international has failed to establish himself as a regular since arriving from Rangers in 2022 and many are insisting he should now be sold.

David Moyes targets new right-back in ambitious summer move
Moyes has been keen to add a new right-back to his squad this summer, but has already missed out on key targets such as Kyle Walker and Kyle Walker-Peters.
Former West Ham scout and close Moyes ally Mick Brown told Football Insider in May that right-back is a priority position for Everton in their transfer plans for this summer.
While the ageing Seamus Coleman remains an option, Patterson’s inconsistency and failure to nail down a place in the side have turned them to the transfer market.

Patterson was linked with a return to Rangers in the January transfer window, while he started just four games all season and remains out of favour under Moyes.
With ambitious plans to build on last season’s relative success, there is a growing feeling that some of the squad’s dead wood could yet be moved on.
Taking to social media following their pre-season defeat, Everton fans have called for Patterson to be sold, labelling him “horrid” and “embarrassing”.
