'Done nothing', 'What about Ross' - Everton fans react on Twitter to Kenwright revelation

By Amir Mir

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has revealed that Kevin Mirallas is set to sign a new deal – and fans on Twitter have provided a mixed reaction to the news.

The club confirmed on their official Twitter account that the 29-year-old is set to put pen to paper on a new “long-term” contract at Goodison Park.

Winger Mirallas has been a regular figure for manager Ronald Koeman this term as he has helped the Toffees into Europe in his debut season.

Here was the major news from the club’s chairman Kenwright:

One fan stated that it was fantastic to see that Mirallas is going to extend his stay at the club as they are now waiting on the futures of Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku.

Another fan believes that Mirallas signing a new contract before the duo shows that the writing is on the wall, particularly, for Barkley.

The attacking duo have been key figures for their team this season but their futures at Goodison Park are in doubt.

Nonetheless, one supporter was clearly annoyed that Mirallas was getting a new contract because he believes he doesn’t even break sweat when on the field of play.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Over the course of the season, Mirallas has played 35 matches in all competitions, scoring four goals added with his six assists.

In the Premier League, he has played a total of 33 games, including starting his side’s 1-0 defeat at Swansea last Saturday.

Mirallas last scored for the Toffees when they beat Tony Pulis’, West Brom 3-0 on home soil in March.

In other Everton transfer news, a proven Premier League defender has revealed he wants to be at the Toffees next season after reported interest from West Ham.
