Everton fans react on Twitter as club confirms senior midfield signing

By Emma Sanders

Everton fans reacted with excitement and relief on Twitter after it was confirmed that midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has completed his move to Goodison Park following a successful medical.

The club’s official website revealed the news that Schneiderlin has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract with the club following a move from Manchester United.

The news was also confirmed on Everton’s official Twitter page.

Schneiderlin has completed the switch after falling out of favour with United boss Jose Mourinho and will link up with his former manager Ronald Koeman.

The club also confirmed the fee was an initial £20million which could rise to £24million.

Fans were relieved to finally see confirmation of the deal which has been in process for some time following on-going speculation on Schneiderlin’s future.

Here is a selection of the messages on Twitter:

The Blues appear to have had a fairly productive transfer window so far as Tom Cleverley has joined Watford on loan and Oumar Niasse is believed to be undergoing a medical ahead of a potential move.

As well as Schneiderlin, Everton have also been linked with a loan move for United winger Memphis Depay.

For now though they’re happy that Schneiderlin has signed.

The 27-year-old flourished under Koeman during his time at Southampton prior to his departure 18 months ago and fans hope he will re-finds his form at Everton after struggling to land a regular starting role at Manchester United.

In other Everton news, Klopp has issued a hands off warning on Coutinho.
