Everton fans slaughter Abdoulaye Doucoure as ‘stinking’ stats emerge
Everton fans have slaughtered Abdoulaye Doucoure for his “stinking” performance against Brentford on Saturday evening (27 April).
After a season of uncertainty, poor performances and two points deductions, the Toffees secured their Premier League status for another season with a 1-0 win at Goodison Park against the Bees.
Idrissa Gueye bagged a thunderous strike on the hour mark to secure the win in what was a solid team performance, but supporters have singled out Doucoure as a “passenger” in the crucial victory.
Manager Sean Dyche opted to play the midfielder in a more advanced position, and his stats serve to prove that it was not the best use of his talents.
Abdoulaye Doucoure was “awful” for Everton v Brentford
Across his 90 minutes on the pitch, the former Watford man managed just 32 passes, no successful aerial duels and missed one big chance while failing to win 80 per cent of his attempted ground duels and losing possession seven times.
He has been a crucial member of the Everton squad this season and has bagged important goals in their fight for survival.
However, in the wake of his latest outing, fans are beginning to question his role in the starting line-up.
They have taken to social media to bash his “awful” outing, and one fan claimed he is one of the “worst players in the league”.
