'Doesn't get much better' - Everton fans take to Twitter to celebrate major development
By Russell Edge
Everton fans have taken to social media to celebrate the news that the Toffees will be playing European football next season.
Leicester’s 1-0 win over eighth placed West Brom on Saturday means that the Baggies cannot catch Everton, placed in seventh.
The European places are dealt out by league position, plus a place each for the winners of the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
With fifth placed Manchester United having won the EFL Cup, and the FA Cup final contested between two top-six sides in Arsenal and Chelsea, this means that all teams down to seventh have earned themselves a place in Europe, which now includes Ronald Koeman’s side.
The seventh placed club will enter the Europa League at the third qualifying round stage, the first leg of which is set to be played on the 27th of July, just over two weeks prior to the start of the Premier League season.

To reach the group stages, they would have to come through this qualifier and then pick up victory in the play-off stage, which would take place the week after the opening weekend of the league.
Everton confirmed the news on their official website, with fans taking to social media to welcome their return back to continental football for the first time since the 2014/15 season.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
