Everton fans think last-minute Beto exit is inevitable as footage shared after draw vs Brighton

Everton fans think that Beto is set to depart before Monday’s 7pm transfer deadline after what they saw after their 1-1 draw at Brighton on Saturday.

The Guinea-Bissau international has been heavily linked with an exit throughout the January transfer window, but he stepped up to scramble home a stoppage-time equaliser for his team at the Amex Stadium.

Football Insider recently revealed that Everton are facing interest in Beto from Como and Fiorentina, while the Toffees have also been pursuing new striker targets of their own in recent weeks.

Thierno Barry’s recent improvement has limited the 28-year-old to just a handful of minutes of late, and supporters have been quick to read into his actions after Saturday’s draw.

Everton fans react as Beto may have said final goodbyes

Beto’s form has underwhelmed for Everton so far this season, as his goal on Saturday was just his third league strike of the campaign.

The frontman managed eight from 30 appearances in the league last term, but he is not even halfway to that benchmark this term, having already played 24 times.

Talk of a potential exit for the former Udinese man has refused to go away of late, and fans think that his departure before the upcoming deadline is now inevitable after footage was shared on X of him in front of the away end after full-time against Brighton.

Beto approached the Everton fans on his own before bowing in front of them, with many supporters suggesting that it was the gesture of a man who knows that he’s about to move on.

One fan highlighted the fact that the striker’s teammates had pushed him forward to the front of the group as another indication that he may be about to leave.

Several other supporters replied to the initial post and said that they had interpreted the footage in the same way.

Everton already planning ‘strong push’ for Beto replacement

Everton have been chasing the signing of Tyrique George of late, and are now planning a “strong push” to sign him before Monday’s imminent deadline.

The Merseysiders have had the Chelsea starlet in their sights in recent days, and they are now planning a late acceleration to their interest in a bid to beat Sunderland to a deal for the forward.

David Moyes has been trying to add further options at the top of the pitch since the start of the window, but it is also possible that George could be the immediate replacement for Beto if he does depart.

George has been used sparingly so far by Liam Rosenior since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, and a loan move to get more exposure to senior football now appears to be on the cards.
