Everton fans thrilled as talks over first summer signing confirmed
Everton fans are looking forward to an exciting summer window – their first under The Friedkin Group – ahead of the club’s stadium move.
The Toffees, under returning boss David Moyes, secured a 13th-place finish in the Premier League after beating Newcastle 1-0 on the final day of the season (25 May).
Financial concerns have seen Everton’s transfer business restricted in recent years but they are expected to be active this summer as their new owners usher in an exciting era.
The club have already confirmed Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia will depart at the end of their contracts – but have now updated fans on a potential first signing of the summer.

Everton ‘in talks’ to complete Alcaraz deal
Everton confirmed on Monday (26 May) that Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrøm, Orel Mangala and Armando Broja will return to their parent clubs at the end of their respective loan deals.
Moyes said: “We would like to thank all our loan players, who have contributed to the positive steps we made on the pitch. They all embraced what it means to play for this club, and their attitude and commitment throughout their time at Everton was first class.”
However, the club also revealed they are “continuing discussions” with Carlos Alcaraz – who joined from Flamengo on loan in the January window and was the match-winner in the clash against Newcastle on Sunday.
Everton inserted an option-to-buy clause in the deal which saw the midfielder arrive on Merseyside.
