Everton get new PSR ‘warning’ – ‘big deals will have to wait’
Everton are set for a summer of change as the club relocates to its new home at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and club chiefs are hoping for a transformation on the pitch to go with it.
A disappointing final season at Goodison Park saw the Toffees register a 13th-place finish in the Premier League last term, well clear of the relegation spots but equally short of European qualification.
In the bottom three when Sean Dyche departed the club in January, results steadily improved under his replacement David Moyes, but a new era demands a new mindset.
Under the ownership of The Friedkin Group since last December’s takeover, Moyes hopes to be handed a substantial transfer kitty this summer.
But Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted compliancy with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) will be hindering any immediate plans.

Everton will ‘kick on’ when July comes around, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed he expects Everton to be patient in the current transfer window and line-up deals that are “ready to go” ahead of the rollover of their accounting period in July.
The Merseysiders have already wrapped up a permanent deal deal for midfielder Charly Alcaraz after his impressive loan stint this year.
Wyness insisted Everton fans will have to wait until July to see further arrivals.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Everton’s business is going to be a little bit funny. They’re going have to wait to get this financial year out of the way.
“They’re going to be pretty much quiet through June, but then I’d expect them to kick on as of 1 July, because that’s when we go into a new accounting period for the PSR situation.
“Also, they’ll be able to look at next year and add in all the new stadium and sponsorship revenues, so there’s going to be a fair bit of leeway for PSR.
“But I don’t expect any big dramatic things.
“They are going to be using this time to line up deals and get them ready to go in the first week of July.”

Everton ready to finalise attacking midfielder signing as £12m+ deal agreed
Meanwhile, Everton are in the market for more attacking midfield reinforcements despite already completing a permanent move for Alcaraz, sources have told Football Insider.
The Toffees activated their £12.6million option to sign Alcaraz, 22, from Flamengo and he has signed an initial two-year deal.
Matt O’Riley has been linked with a potential switch this summer, but Football Insider has revealed (2 June) that Brighton will demand to recoup their total investment in the midfielder.
