‘Everton handed final Graham Potter chance with West Ham reversal’

Everton may have been handed a golden last opportunity to appoint Graham Potter as their new manager.

The Toffees’ fans have recently called for manager Sean Dyche to be sacked, and it seems like the writing is on the wall for the former Burnley manager.

Everton have only won three of their 19 games in the league this season and hover above the relegation zone in 16th place.

West Ham seemed to have won the race to acquire Potter as their new manager as Football Insider reported the Hammers had held advanced talks, before negotiations appear to have stalled at the last over the length of his contract after the Englishman seemingly changed his stance [The Times], giving Everton a chance to appoint the former Chelsea manager instead.

Graham Potter would be the right man in the new Everton era

Everton are set to move in to their new stadium before the 2025/26 season starts, and a new manager would pair will with the new digs.

Whilst his time at Chelsea ended in him being sacked, it is safe to say that Everton hold more similarities with his former club Brighton where he made the most of data and analytics over big-money signings.

Whilst it seems that Everton are his second choice, behind West Ham, fans of the Liverpudlian side are crying out for a manager who plays more attractive football and that is certainly something Potter would offer.

Ndiaye has been the silver-lining for Everton fans during a poor season

Players like Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil are likely to thrive under the former Swansea manager in a way that current Arsenal winger, Leandro Trossard, did under Potter.
