Everton have ‘deal ready to be done’ – ‘David Moyes has final say’

David Moyes is set to have the “final say” on a potential transfer for Jesper Lindstrom, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that “there is a deal there ready to be done” if Moyes gives it the green light.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Goodison Park from Napoli, but they have the option to make that permanent for around £18.5million.

A decision will have to be made by Moyes and his recruitment team as to whether or not they want to go ahead and do that deal to keep him at the club on a full-time basis.

Lindstrom has been getting more of a run in the team lately under the new Everton boss, playing his part in their recent upturn in form.

The Denmark international would already have one year’s worth of Premier League experience under his belt if Everton did sign him, making the deal less of a risk from their perspective.

It is believed fans would see the best from Lindstrom next season once he’s had that time to adapt to English football.

Everton deal won’t be impacted by PSR

Everton have been skirting around the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules in recent times as they look to avoid a points deduction.

However, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Lindstrom’s £18.5million fee will not be a massive stumbling block for the club.

The Merseyside giants didn’t spend anything in the January transfer window, which was a case of keeping their powder dry due to the worry of PSR.

There is also a case that some big earners at the club could end up leaving in the summer transfer window which would free up more opportunities for Moyes to strengthen his squad.

David Moyes wants to strengthen his Everton squad

Moyes will be looking to strengthen his squad in the summer transfer window to help move the club forward.

Football Insider revealed that the club are aiming to sign young, British stars as part of a new recruitment focus that Moyes is driving.

Football Insider also confirmed that Moyes’ transfer budget is set to be boosted in the summer transfer window if he’s able to secure their Premier League status.
