Everton in advanced talks to agree Rob Newman deal – sources
Everton are in advanced talks with ex-West Ham recruitment chief Rob Newman, sources have told Football Insider.
The Merseysiders are closing in on a deal to appoint Newman, 61, as their new head of recruitment.
Brighton’s David Weir has been lined up by Everton to replace Kevin Thelwell as their new sporting director – but have not yet reached an agreement after preliminary discussions.

He was appointed in October 2021 and left the London Stadium at the end of the 2023-24 campaign – at the same time as Moyes.
