Football Insider verdict
Sam Allardyce definitely needs to look at refreshing his centre-back options but it has gone very quiet for Everton this month. In fact, the entire back line could do with a bit of a revamp as players are starting to age and become more prone to injuries. Leighton Baines, Williams and Phil Jagielka are three defenders that Allardyce may have to find long-term replacements for unless he was to put his faith in the youngsters that are graduating from the Blues’ academy. Vogt looks a decent player. He is performing well at a steady Bundesliga club and has clear leadership qualities. Being tall and having pace is also important, especially as pace is something that is seriously lacking at centre-back for Everton.
