Everton are firmly in the hunt to sign Fulham right-back Ryan Fredericks this summer, according to a report.
The Sun claim that the defender, 25, could join the Merseysiders on a free when his contract with the Championship promotion chasers expires in June.
Fredericks joined Fulham in the summer of 2015 from Bristol City just 25 days after he had been released by Tottenham, where he played just four senior matches after graduating from their youth team ranks.
He has been a key member of the third-placed Championship side in the last few seasons, accumulating 103 appearances in all competitions.
Fredericks has started 36 out of a possible 38 league matches for the Cottagers this season and supplied an impressive nine assists.
Football Insider verdict:
Everton have had difficulties in the full-back positions this season, with injury ruling out first choice duo Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines for much of the campaign, and a make-do-and-mend selection policy reflected in the team’s mixed results. Fredericks would be a fine signing. There has not been that much noise surrounding him, mainly due to the astonishing precociousness of Ryan Sessegnon on the other flank. But the former Spurs right-back is one of the best in his position outside of the top flight, and his energy, extreme pace and ability to motor up and down the flank make him a key player for promotion chasers Fulham.
