Jordan Pickford reacts to Everton’s Michael Keane announcement
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has reacted to the news that the Toffees have decided on Michael Keane’s future.
The defender made just 14 appearances for David Moyes’ men in the Premier League last season, but managed to score three goals.
Meanwhile, Pickford enjoyed yet another successful campaign between the sticks for the Toffees, maintaining 12 clean sheets in 38 top-flight outings.
After finishing 13th in the Premier League last season, Everton will look to finish in the top half next term under the trusted stewardship of Moyes.

Pickford reacts as Everton give Keane a new contract
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Everton were set to give Keane a contract extension, eliminating the possibility that he could leave the Merseyside club as a free agent this summer.
The Toffees officially confirmed the news on Friday, 4 July, as they announced on Instagram: “Michael Keane has signed a new one-year contract until the end of June 2026.”
Everton’s post attracted a like from Pickford, who will hope to retain his spot as England’s first-choice goalkeeper ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Keane’s new deal is the right choice for Moyes
Football Insider verdict
Keane was a bit-part player for Everton last term and endured a lack of game time in the top flight, having previously served as a key player for the North West outfit.

Appearances | 14 |
Goals | 3 |
But even though the 32-year-old no longer boasts the defensive ability he did at his peak, Everton have made the correct decision in handing him fresh terms.
Keane proved himself as a key asset for the Toffees after fellow centre-back James Tarkowski suffered a hamstring injury, meaning that he did not feature in the Premier League after a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on 19 April.
The former England international also showcased his ability to contribute in an attacking sense when he put the Blues in the lead during a 3-1 victory at Fulham on 10 May.
Furthermore, regardless of how many appearances Keane makes next season, his dressing room presence and rich experience will prove vital for Moyes’ men.
Meanwhile, former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been tipped to join a newly promoted Premier League side in a Goodison News exclusive.
