Everton medical soon as Jesper Lindstrom deal agreed – sources
Everton have agreed a deal to sign Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old has packed his bags and is set to jet in for his Everton medical this week after the clubs agreed to a loan-to-buy deal.
Everton will pay the Italian club a £2 million loan fee for the Danish winger who joined Napoli from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.
Football Insider had revealed that the two clubs were discussing a swap deal with Ukranian left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko (July 18) but those talks broke down as Sean Dyche is keen on keeping the defender.
Dyche and the Merseyside club are looking to reinforce their wing options after the £50 million sale of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa.
Everton have also entered talks with Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto, revealed by Football Insider (July 21)
Everton need Jesper Lindstrom to bolster wing options
Since joining the club last summer, Lindstrom has been a bench option for Napoli making 29 appearances, only playing just 587 minutes in all competitions, and failing to score.
Following Lewis Dobbin’s move to Aston Villa along with Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma’s returns to their respective parent clubs, Everton are seriously lacking in wing options.

Lindstrom is capable of playing on either wing as well as a number 10 but was primarily used as a left-winger during his time in Italy.
His lack of playing time saw him miss out on a call-up to Kasper Hjulmand’s Denmark squad for Euro 2024 this summer.
It’s unlikely that Lindstrom will be Everton’s only loan signing this summer. Football Insider revealed (July 23) that the club are focusing on loan deals following the failed Friedkin Group takeover.
In other news, Everton have told striker he’s free to leave the club.
