Championship winners Wolves have reportedly entered the race for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere but it must be Everton who are striking a deal for the Gunners star.
The Mirror has claimed that the Merseyside club are among a whole host of clubs chasing Wilshere, and this increased interest means that the Toffees cannot afford to be indecisive in their pursuit of the England international and need to make their move now.
The Gunners have reportedly upped their contract offer for the Gunners ace, while Wolves are said to have a deal on the table for the player’s services.
With the Arsenal man’s terms set to expire at the end of the season and as yet no extension agreed, the chances of him exiting the Emirates this summer have increased.
All of this means that the Blues cannot afford to mess around – and what’s more, Wilshere’s arrival at Goodison Park would spell an upgrade on their current XI.
While Gylfi Sigurdsson is one of the supporters’ favourites, the Icelandic does not come close to offering what the Arsenal ace can give to the Toffees, especially in the very middle of the park.
Wilshere, 26, would have a far greater influence in terms of attacking threat and creative ability and could provide the ideal link for Cenk Tosun in attack next season.
It is also a move that will see Farhad Moshiri’s millions go up against Wolves’ Fosun’s millions in a battle to see who has the might in terms of financial power between the two clubs – an enticing watch for all this summer.
