Everton news: Agbonlahor destroys ’embarrassing’ Michael Keane – ‘My three-year-old daughter moves quicker’
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed his three-year-old daughter can move her feet quicker than Everton defender Michael Keane.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Keane’s part in Man City’s winner on Saturday (26 February) was the worst piece of defending he’s ever seen.
The centre-back was caught out when Mason Holgate deflected a Bernardo Silva cross.
Keane was unable to readjust his feet to clear the ball and Phil Foden picked up the ball behind him before finishing calmly past Jordan Pickford.
It was the only goal of the game at Goodison Park as Everton were denied a controversial penalty late on after Rodri was adjudged to have not handled the ball.
“My three-year-old daughter could move her feet quicker than Michael Keane did,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“It was embarrassing defending. Just embarrassing.
“It wasn’t like he had to move at the last minute. The ball was coming to him for a long time and he couldn’t move his feet.
“Honestly, it was the worst bit of defending I’ve ever seen from Michael Keane. That’s the difference between getting something out of the game and not.
“He’s lost his place in the England squad and I think he’s lacking a lot of confidence as well.”

Despite his faltering form this season Keane has started and completed the 90 minutes 23 of Everton’s 24 Premier League games.
The 29-year-old won the last of his 12 England caps in November 2020.
