Everton news: Pundit issues 'unbelievable' Richarlison claim after update

Everton are demanding too much money for Richarlison amid interest from Tottenham.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Brazilian’s future.

According to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein (11 June), Spurs are interested in signing Richarlison, 25, this summer.

The Toffees are said to want more than £51million for the attacker.

Antonio Conte is reshaping his squad ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, in which his side will return to the Champions League.

However, Kenny claims the club may not make an offer for Richarlison as Everton’s demands are too high.

“It’s a lot of money,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s 25, so he’s not too old. It’s a tough one. Sometimes I watch him and I think he is unbelievable then other times he doesn’t look interested.

“Whether that fits in with what Conte wants to do, only time will tell.

“But that is a lot of money for a player like him, maybe too much.

“They have money to spend, Tottenham, but whether they want to spend that much on him, I don’t know.

“They are fairly well covered in attack so it will be interesting to see what happens there.”

Richarlison scored 10 goals in 30 Premier League appearances during the 2021-22 campaign.

He joined the Toffees in July 2018 for a fee that could rise to £50million, as per BBC Sport.
