‘Everton owners in talks over major purchase for David Moyes’ Everton transfers’

David Moyes looks set to be given a helping hand by The Friedkin Group ahead of an exciting summer transfer window for Everton.

Anticipation is growing rapidly ahead of the 2024/25 campaign ending, with the Toffees no longer at risk of being relegated to the Championship, and a new era just beginning under new ownership.

TFG have offered a newfound hope after taking over from Farhad Moshiri, who left Goodison Park as a controversial figure, and it has not taken long for focus to shift to summer signings.

West Ham’s Tomas Soucek is understood to be an Everton target, alongside Liverpool’s Ben Doak, but the new owners need to get deals right and be smart with their spending, especially with the pressure of Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR).

Now, it appears that TFG are putting plans in place to help Moyes and his backroom staff make the correct signings, making the most of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium and wiping the slate clean.

David Moyes handed transfer boost by new TFG plans

According to City AM (30 April), TFG are in talks over buying a data company to assist Moyes with player recruitment during the summer transfer window.

It is understood that an internal review was conducted at Goodison Park by the American franchise, who have now decided to restructure the football department, including the exit of sporting director Kevin Thelwell.

TFG are planning to outsource some of the preliminary recruitment work to a data company, which can also be used by their other club, AS Roma.

Incoming chief executive Angus Kinnear, joining from Leeds United, Moyes and new figure, Nicky Hammond, will all have significant roles on potential transfers despite the new model.

Everton owners unlikely to splash the cash during first summer in charge

Football Insider verdict

The recent cycle at Goodison Park has been supporters getting excited about a new season, only to be thrown into a relegation battle, and a manager needing to pull them away in the final few weeks.

Moyes has, of course, done that himself this season after taking over from Sean Dyche, but the Scot has managed so much more than that in such a small amount of time.

The Toffees are now 17 points clear of the dropzone with four matches remaining, and that is testament to the former West Ham figure’s impact since arriving at the club in February.

While there is a lot of excitement building on Merseyside, the players who kept the club in the Premier League this season need to be remembered, especially when it comes to new contracts this summer.

Football Insider understands that Everton have opened talks with Idrissa Gueye over a new deal, and similar talks need to be held over Jarrad Branthwaite, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Jordan Pickford.
