Everton are interested in signing Napoli attacker Dries Mertens, according to a report.
The Daily Star claim that the Toffees are eyeing a £12million deal for the 29-year-old, but face tough competition for his signature.
It is understood that Liverpool and Tottenham are keen on the left winger, while European giants Bayern Munich and Ajax are also interested.
The report details that Everton manager Ronald Koeman was keen on signing Mertens during his time at Southampton boss and is now hoping to take him to Goodison Park.

The Belgian international has made 160 appearances for Napoli and is currently in the best form of his stay.
He also enjoyed a successful spell at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven earlier in his career and scored 45 goal in 88 appearances.
Mertens has never played in England before, but his pace and skill looks like it could be a good fit for the Premier League.
The Toffees do already have two Belgian attackers in their ranks and he could form a strong partnership alongside Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lukaku.
Football Insider verdict:
Everton should try to complete a deal for the highly rated Mertens, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent season. The attacker appears to be a good fit for the division and the Toffees could be competing a bargain deal at just £12million. Koeman is still trying to find his strongest XI at Goodison Park and Mertens would certainly add quality to the squad. He has a good pedigree after making 55 international caps for Belgium and playing regularly in the Champions League. Everton are keen to challenge at the top-end of the table and Mertens’ signature would certainly be a step in the right direction.
In other Everton transfer news, they have agreed a fee to sign an attacker.
