Everton plan to replace Amadou Onana revealed – sources

Everton will only be able to bring in a low-cost replacement for midfield star Amadou Onana this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Onana is expected to leave Goodison Park in the off-season to help the Merseysiders comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (7 April) that Everton will look for between £50-60million for the 22-year-old this summer.

West Ham, Arsenal and Newcastle are among the Premier League sides to show an interest in the Belgium international.

However, it is believed the majority of the money they bring in for Onana and other stars will be swallowed up by the club’s huge debt.

Everton can’t sign big-money Onana replacement this summer

777 Partners, who are trying to buy the club from Farhad Moshiri, have funded the club through loans while MSP Capital are also owed £158million.

The Toffees reportedly owe more than £550million in total to third-party creditors.

Everton are planning to sign a replacement for Onana in the summer window, but it is believed they will only be able to sanction low-cost deals in the off-season.

The former Lille star has made 32 appearances across all competitions this term, starting in 28 of those outings.
