Football Insider rates the Everton players after their 3-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League.
Maarten Stekelenburg 4 – The goalkeeper fumbled a shot in the first-half and there are question marks over his handling, something that came back to bit them. He could do nothing about Pedro’s long-range strike, but will be bitterly disappointed for his role in Gary Cahill’s goal as he flapped at a free-kick.
Mason Holgate 6 – Was caught out a couple of times at right-back and offers nowhere near the same attacking input as the injured Seamus Coleman. However, steady for the majority and an exciting young talent.
Phil Jagielka 5 – He did find it difficult against the strong Diego Costa and his days are numbered in the starting XI.
Ashley Williams 6 – Also thoroughly tested against Costa, but fared slightly better.
Leighton Baines 6 – Steady performance at full-back, but didn’t venture forward.
Idrissa Gueye 7 – Was asked to keep tabs on Eden Hazard and tried to limit the playmaker. He managed to nullify the threat for the majority and was only caught out occasionally by his speed.
Tom Davies 8 – Tenacious performance in the middle of the park and is a future star. He battled against the likes of N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic, but looked in his element.
Enner Valencia 7 – He came back into the side and worked tirelessly in attack, asking questions of the defenders throughout.
Ross Barkley 5 – One of his more disappointing displays and guilty of being sloppy in possession.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin 6 – The youngster was so close to opening the scoring, but saw his effort strike the post.
Romelu Lukaku 6 – Impressed against his former side and his hold up play was impressive at times, but just failed to really threaten the goal.
Kevin Mirallas (for Calvert-Lewin 72mins) 6
Arouna Kone (for Valencia 72mins) 6
