Football Insider rates the Everton players after their 1-1 draw against Manchester United in Sunday’s Premier League encounter at Goodison Park.
Maarten Stekelenburg 4 – Made a poor error in judgement by rushing out to meet a through ball, was punished as a result by Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s chipped goal. The experienced player should have known better.
Seamus Coleman 6 – Was unable to showcase his attacking talents and thoroughly tested by Anthony Martial. Fans will be concerned after he was forced off injured.
Ramiro Funes Mori 6 – Replaced Phil Jagielka in the starting line-up and looked settled, but always looks vulnerable to a mistake.
Ashley Williams 6 – Dealt well with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s presence and one of few players who looked assured.
Leighton Baines 7 – Stayed composed by converting a late penalty to earn his side a valuable point.
Idrissa Gueye 8 – Was excellent in breaking up play with his interceptions and involved in a fascinating battle with Paul Pogba. Everton’s best player and earned his team a penalty after being fouled by Marouane Fellaini.
Gareth Barry 6 – Steady display in the midfield and picked up a usual booking for his combative approach.
Kevin Mirallas 5 – Extremely quiet performance by the Belgian, but did spring to life on one occasion to bring a good save out of United goalkeeper David De Gea.
Tom Cleverley 4 – Offered very little going forward against his former side and was withdrawn after a dreadful afternoon.
Yannick Bolasie 6 – Managed to get several good crosses into the box, but didn’t get on the ball enough.
Romelu Lukaku 5 – Had the physical edge overUnited defenders Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo, but was unable to exploit that and create any chances in front of goal.
Gerard Deulofeu (for Tom Cleverley 65mins) 6
Mason Holgate (for Seamus Coleman 67mins) 6
Enner Valencia (for Yannick Bolasie 68mins) 6
