Everton plot Jesper Lindstrom swap deal, multiple formulas discussed – sources
Everton are plotting a swap deal involving Napoli playmaker Jesper Lindstrom and their left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko, sources have told Football Insider.
Antonio Conte is said to be keen on bringing the Merseyside club’s 25-year-old to Napoli as he seeks to build his new squad around his preferred 3-5-2 formation.
Everton have also made contact with Napoli for 24-year-old Lindstrom but their preference is for a loan-to-buy deal rather than a straight permanent transfer.
Discussions are now set to advance on multiple formulas, and one of those includes a cash-plus-player exchange deal.
Lindstrom, who is capable of playing on either wing along with the number ten role, is yet to score for Napoli since joining the club from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.
With the imminent transfer of midfielder Amadou Onana to Aston Villa, Everton are lacking in the middle of the park.
Lindstrom is one target as Sean Dyche’s midfield rebuild begins, while Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that the Merseysiders are stepping up their pursuit of Kalvin Phillips.
Everton could potentially swap Vitaliy Mykolenko
Ukrainian left-back Mykolenko has been one of Everton’s most consistent performers since joining the club from Dynamo Kyiv in 2021-22.
Solid defensively yet capable of providing an attacking outlet when needed, the 25-year-old made 34 appearances in all competitions for Dyche last season, scoring twice in the process.

Mykolenko is currently Everton’s only first-team left-back. Should he leave the club, they would have to find an adequate replacement fairly quickly with the start of the Premier League season looming.
In other news, Everton have made a move for Man City midfielder.
