Everton plot raid to sign right-back – sources
Everton want to sign a new right-back in the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the club will have some money to spend this summer.
He explained that it won’t be a lot, with the majority of the money available set to be generated by the sales of current stars.
Sources have told Football Insider that Jarrad Branthwaite could be sold to help balance the books, with Everton set to receive a huge profit for the 21-year-old given how he was signed for a nominal fee from Carlisle United.
Everton transfer news as Sean Dyche priority revealed
Man United want to sign the centre-back, and are confident a bid of between £60-70million will be enough to land his signature, sources told Football Insider on Thursday (25th April).
O’Rourke explained that right-back is, however, a priority for Sean Dyche due to various issues in that area.
Nathan Patterson has struggled with injury, while veteran Seamus Coleman is ageing, with Ashley Young and Ben Godfrey not viewed as first choices.
All four players have been handed minutes in that area by Dyche this season, with all four moving in and out of the starting XI for various reasons.

They have all played a key role in helping the Toffees form one of the meanest Premier League defences this season, with only the top three clubs – Arsenal (26), Man City (32) and Liverpool (34) – conceding fewer goals than Everton (48), as per the official Premier League website.
