Everton plot shock raid of PL rivals for powerhouse forward, Koeman a big fan - report
By Danny Wright
Everton are plotting a “shock” move for Watford striker Stefano Okaka, according to a report.
The Mirror claims that Blues manager Ronald Koeman is a big fan of Okaka, 27, and is now lining up a last-ditch raid of his Premier League rivals with a loan offer for the powerhouse forward.
It is understood that Okaka caught the eye of Koeman after he netted twice against the Toffees last season, but after Andre Gray and Richarlison were signined at Vicarage Road, the four-times Italy international has fell down the pecking order.
Everton are said to be in search of a powerful striker to fill the void vacated by Romelu Lukaku after he left Merseyside to join Manchester United and Koeman is now reported to be “weighing up” whether or not the Watford hitman fits that category.
The Mirror adds that Udinese are also interest in Okaka, who will be leaving Watford before Thursday night’s transfer deadline.

The striker has one goal in one appearance so far this season which, appropriately for Everton, came against Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
In 20 appearances across all competitions last season, Okaka scored just four goals after missing most of the campaign with hamstring injuries.
Football Insider Verdict
Everton did a lot of their transfer business this summer at a very early stage in the window and they were largely praised for it. However they’ve left this search for a new striker way too late and it now seems that they are being drawn into panic-buying. Okaka simply isn’t good enough to play for a team with Everton’s ambition. He is a similar type of player to Lukaku, but that doesn’t mean that the Toffees should be trying to sign any old player who is over 6ft and can shrug off a few physical challenges. Okaka isn’t a goal scorer, and that is essentially why the Toffees are just better off not having anyone as opposed to the Italian international.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are favourites to sign this Barcelona player.
