Everton poised to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin replacement – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed the club will replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin if he leaves this summer.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested sales will be necessary to minimise the risk of further financial breaches.
According to The Telegraph (23 May), Newcastle are plotting a move for Calvert-Lewin in the summer transfer window.
The striker, who has been on the books at Goodison Park since 2016, is only under contract at Everton until June 2025.
He made 32 starts in 38 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign, notching eight goals and three assists.

Everton also has strikers Beto and Youssef Chermiti on the books as backup strikers, but neither fully adapted to the Premier League this term.
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “It’s all about what Everton can do to minimise the risk of any future PSR breaches coming through.
“The financial situation will dictate the ins and outs.
“Dyche will want to limit the exits to as few as possible.
“If Calvert-Lewin is to go this summer, I think another striker will be coming in to replace him.”

Everton finished 15th in the Premier League in the 2023-24 campaign despite being deducted eight points for breaches of Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Calvert-Lewin (eight) was the club’s top scorer this term, with Abdoulaye Doucoure also chipping in with seven goals.
